The organization has a rich legacy which started in 1932 by the founder, Aliene Carrington Ewell and 11 courageous nurses with the vision to impact communities through healthcare education and services.

The mission began and continues to build efficiently and effectively by elevating the plane of nursing. The organization continues to identify and develop nursing leaders to affect change in the numerous communities within its service areas which are found throughout the United States. The motto “Service for Humanity,” is the driving force of the organization along with its vision and mission which provides opportunities through programs and projects across the lifespan for partners, members, and friends to expand outreach on the local, regional, national levels, and beyond.
